Privacy & Data Usage in the Mobile App (“Edwantage”)
As part of Meteoric Solutions’s digital learning platform, the LMS Mobile application—branded as Edwantage—is governed by the following privacy practices:
- All communication is strictly between the mobile app and your designated LMS site; no personal data is shared with third parties unless enabled by site-specific features such as push notifications.
- If push notifications are enabled, they may be routed through external services like Google (for Android) or Apple (for iOS). These services may temporarily store notification tokens but not personal data.
- The app requests only the permissions necessary for its functionality, such as camera or gallery access when uploading profile images. These permissions can be denied by users at any time without affecting basic access.
- Administrators may enable age verification or policy acceptance pop-ups. These must be acknowledged by users before accessing the LMS via the app.
- Embedded content (e.g., YouTube videos) may load cookies or track interactions. Wherever possible, privacy-enhanced modes should be used.
- Offline access features may interact with operating system-level services for storage or accessibility. These are managed via the user’s device settings.
- The app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to support push notifications. This generates a random identifier without linking to personal information.
- The Moodle mobile app does not store persistent cookies. Any cookies used are session-based and cleared when the app is closed.
This section supplements Meteoric Solutions’s main privacy policy and applies specifically to users accessing LMS content via the Edwantage LMS mobile application.
